Marketing & Retail Executive

We are looking for a new key member of the team to help deliver the professional and efficient running of both the retail premises in Ross-on-Wye and the website, as well helping to promote the business across various platforms using a variety of tools.

A busy, varied and interesting role, as our Marketing & Retail Executive you will be comfortable working in different environments: customer facing on the shop floor, as well as updating and effectively presenting products on the website and marketing the business across social media, print media and online publications.  Your focus will be on our clothing, footwear and accessory product ranges, but also working closely with the gun room.

The successful candidate will be friendly, professional and approachable with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. You will be creative, innovative and IT literate, with excellent attention to detail. You should be well presented with a confident telephone manner and happy to work as part of a close-knit team.

Experience working in retail and/or with WordPress and WooCommerce, email marketing platforms, social media channels, scheduling tools, Google Analytics and Epos systems would be an advantage, but not essential, as full training can be given to the right candidate.

The role will involve working Monday to Friday at the shop in Ross-on-Wye as well as attendance at limited external events such as The Game Fair and our annual Open Weekend. We would also consider a 4 day week role.

Access to your own transport is essential.

Due to the nature of the business, a clean criminal record is required and you must be willing to have a full DBS check carried out for the role.

You do not need to be a shotgun or firearms certificate holder to be considered, but we’re keen to hear from people with passion for the countryside and an interest in shooting sports and hunting. There is the opportunity to make this position your own depending on your particular skill set or knowledge.

Assisting the Director, the responsibilities of the Marketing & Retail Executive would include, but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day administration of R&B Sporting website ensuring company and product information are up to date, monitoring stock levels, answering customer queries
  • Product information copywriting and image sourcing and/or image production
  • Fulfillment of online orders – consumer and business to business
  • Working closely with bought-in service providers e.g. web solutions, creative services, design agencies and photographers
  • Origination, development and implementation of engaging and up to date social media content across multiple platforms
  • Copy-writing and/or proof-reading of in-house newsletter, news releases and promotional copy
  • Day-to-day assistance in the shop as required including: answering the telephone, greeting customers who enter the shop, dealing with customer enquiries, labelling & pricing, use of till.
  • Helping to maintain high standards within the retail environment: creating attractive displays of new and/or seasonal stock, keeping shop floor tidy, replenishing stock, ensure any stock gaps are reported.
  • Liaison with stock suppliers and sales representatives as required
  • Occasional nights away, weekend work and additional hours needed for events including, but not limited to, R & B Open Weekend, The Game Fair, Ladies Novice Events. Advance notice will always be given for any such events.
