We have put together a list of the questions we are asked most often to save you time and provide clear guidance. From firearm sales and servicing to clothing, footwear and gundog equipment, these FAQs cover the essentials.
We are open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. We also close on UK bank holidays. Our opening hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday with late night opening every Wednesday until 8pm. On Saturday we are open 10am to 5pm.
Yes, we are based on Haigh Industrial Estate on the edge of the beautiful Herefordshire town of Ross-on-Wye with plenty of free parking just outside the shop.
Yes. Not a copy, not a photo on your phone – the actual certificate. Which MUST be signed.
Yes we do – as long as it’s in excellent condition, is a desirable model and we haven’t already got several of the same model – we will consider buying it. Please click here for more information.
Yes. You can store one or more guns with us for any period of time.

Firstly clean your gun after every use and store it in a dry, temperature-controlled environment – ideally between 15-20 degrees C. High temperatures can damage wood and lubricants, while rapid fluctuations cause condensation, leading to corrosion and rust.
Secondly, ensure you regularly service your gun – ideally annually – this ensures any small issues can be sorted quickly and easily without becoming something much more expensive!

Yes. Please call the shop to arrange a time to bring them in. There is a disposal charge of £30 per gun.
No. But you do need to be over 18 years old and not a ‘prohibited person’ as stated in the Firearms Act (i.e. you cannot have a conviction).
If you are 18 years or older there are no restrictions on buying an air rifle and ammunition, and you can use it wherever you have permission to shoot.

Unfortunately, we don’t offer a refilling service for air cylinders. We can however recommend the team at Dive 90, Cheltenham.
We can mount your scope and give guidance, but you would need to zero it off-site because we do not have the facilities in the shop.
Yes absolutely, there are several options of non-toxic ammunition available for both rifles and shotguns. Please call us or pop in for the latest information and advice.
Yes! We are happy to answer any questions – no question is a silly question! The team are very friendly and more than happy to explain why we recommend a certain gun for you and take you through all your options. No hard sell, no obligation, just experts passionate about helping more people into the sport – everyone is welcome.
Boots are built for muddy, wet and hard-working days but it is essential to look after them properly to ensure they last you many years. Dry them out and clean them frequently – especially around any stitching. Regularly treat your boots with leather wax or rubber conditioner to keep them in tip-top condition.
It is a condition of the issue of a firearm certificate that the firearms and shotguns to which the certificate relates must be stored securely at all times (except in certain circumstances) so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, access to the guns by unauthorised persons (any person who does not have a certificate allowing them to possess the guns of the holder).
